The Mundane Situations of Chestnut + Hazel # 33

I was cleaning my shoes earlier and it took nearly 2 hours and they still don't really seem clean. I didn't really even pay more than 15 - 30 bucks for these shoes, so from a strictly financial perspective the effort didn't really make any economical sense, the issue is that I can never seem to find a replacement for them. I would happy to buy a new pair online for 15 - 30 bucks, but I just can't seem to find them online. I threw away a pair that I had for several years and that I had cleaned and repaired extensively over that time, but I never came across a replacement pair. When I did try to shop for a replacement pair, I ended up buying 2 pairs of hiking boots that I never actually use.

The design that I like is ultra light and flexible, but as a consequence they don't really seem to be all that durable. I have a pair of shoes of a design similar in appearance that is sturdier and more durable, but they are heavier and more rigid and I sometimes feel like I need a shoe horn to put them on.
