I tell myself that this will be my last
pack of cigarettes but it never seems
to work. If I could make smoking my past
I could relegate smoking to my dreams.
I would also save a lot of money;
spending about eight bucks per pack adds up
over the course of a year. It's funny,
also, that at every doctor's checkup
my physician will offer nicotine
patches to help me quit, but I decline
the offer even though it would help clean
my lungs and with a lack of tar be kind
to my trachea, but the burn feels good,
if I stopped tobacco I'd switch to wood.
