It's like beating one's head against a wall, standing up to these theocrats. Thank goodness there are groups such as the Interfaith Alliance that serve as guardians of Jefferson's wall of separation.

Teaching about religion in public schools is allowed, as long as there's a secular educational purpose. But bills like these, introduced in six states, cross the line into proselytizing.

  • Patrick Stubblefield I can't say it's a bad thing, but in fairness let's do the same for the Koran (Jewish), the Quarn (Islam), Pāli Tipitaka (Buddhasism), and the Republic (Plato) for humanism and I Ching (for Taoism). If you're going to push one, you got to push them all. We live in a pluralistic culture in this country. That does mean Freedom of Religion under the 1st Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

  • Kenneth Larot Yamat it's hard to understand paradise lost or inferno or songs of innocence and experience without exposure to biblical literature. im not against limiting exposure, but some exposure might be useful.
  • Kenneth Larot Yamat okay. so the picture shows a whole bible. that might be okay, but it's important that the bible doesn't hijack the literature class.
