Hyperbole # 13 by Jennifer Wardell

It's important to pick where your line ends
because rhymes are not that easy to come
by, and you want to make sure your verse sends
the right drift to your readers and not some
peripheral message that results from
trying to make your lines rhyme, which offends
the judgments of the hearing, deaf, and dumb,
and for the prize of lousy verse pretends.
Most people don't even bother to make
their lines rhyme, so it's not that important
that I do it either, I tend to take
things as they come: it rhymes to an extent
that's great, if not then oh well, better luck
next time, just write your lines and don't get stuck.
